Fiberglass Bathtub & Shower Refinishing

Repair cracks, stop leaks, restore color — and return your fiberglass tub or shower to its original beauty without removal or replacement.

Do You Have Problems With a Fiberglass Bathtub or Shower?

Fiberglass bathtub reglazing / refinishing and repair has been used extensively to restore bathtubs, showers, and tub/shower units. Unfortunately, fiberglass can become dull after only a few years, and worse yet, can develop unsightly stress cracks or even structural cracks resulting in water leaks.

Fortunately, we can repair the cracks, stop the leaks, restore the color, and return your fiberglass tub and shower to its original beauty and appearance. Using the most advanced resins and materials, we can rebuild and patch most any hole, crack, or damage. Our repairs are specifically designed to fix structural and cosmetic cracks in the bottom of fiberglass tubs. We have the know-how to repair a fiberglass tub and we can even change the color. We offer a variety of colors and textures.

Our unique fiberglass repair process is done without removing your fixture. This is a significant advantage since many one-piece fiberglass tub/shower units are built into the structural framing of the walls, making them very difficult to remove. This is just one of the reasons our fiberglass reglazing process can save you up to 75% over the cost of removal and replacement.

After repairs are made and our fiberglass refinishing process is complete, your fiberglass tub and shower should look better than the day it was installed! Unlike other refinishers who simply sand fiberglass to prep the surface prior to applying their coating, Westchester Bathtub Reglazing uses its proprietary Crosslink agent to assure you that the new surface will stay bonded for many years to come.

Our Fiberglass Re-Glazing Process

1

Cover and protect all bathroom fixtures, floors, and cabinets.

2

Remove overflow valve and lower drain cover from inside the bathtub (if possible).

3

Remove all old caulk between bathtub and wall (we do not caulk over old caulk — we start with a clean caulk line for a quality bond).

4

Clean bathtub — removes all built-up soap scum, dirt, grime, body oils, caulk/silicone, etc. to ensure a good bond between bathtub and primer.

5

Spray 2 coats of Cross-link Primer (this chemically bonds new glaze to bathtub). Cross-link primer has been field tested for over 15 years.

6

Spray 3 coats of Synthetic Porcelain (white, bone, or almond).

7

The glaze will be dry in 30 minutes and the bathtub can be used in 24 hours.

8

Re-caulk the bathtub area and re-install overflow valve and drain cover.

9

Clean and vacuum entire bathroom.

10

The entire process takes less than 3 hours.
